In the autumn of 2021, the Great Falls LGBTQ+ Center reached out to 82 churches in Great Falls via email or phone to identify affirming religious spaces using a six question survey. The Center will continue to accept responses from churches who have not completed the survey but would like to be included on our affirming congregations list. The survey included six questions listed below, and the parenthesis indicates the responses of the churches below.
1) Do you support and perform same-sex marriages in your place of worship? (Yes)
2) Do you allow LGBTQ+ members to partake in all religious sacraments? (Yes)
3) Do you teach that homosexuality is a sin? (No)
4) Do you allow and encourage LGBTQ+ members to become religious leaders? (Yes)
5) Do you welcome the transgender/two spirit community in your religious space and commit to using a person’s name and pronouns? (Yes)
6) Do your teachings support access to full equality under the law for the LGBTQ+ community? (Yes)
